Just a normal week.

Ill start off the week with Mail =D I love mail. This week I got three new Home art studio Dvd's After Purchasing Kindergarten I found I really enjoyed them. They have 16projects or 1 project a week during a "normal" school year. They are basic art ideas but what makes them so great is how she walks the kids through what they need to do. While she talks about Art Concepts. They are great for very basic art idea perfect for little ones .You can pop in the dvd into a computer and you can print out a PDF of all the supplies you need.

I was also able to get into my storage unit and found some of our prechool work books I really like how these are set up there is one page per day and it coralates to a story or something from the main book in the back of the book are the paper pop out manipulatives and stickers for the pages.

Something else we do to promote reading is comic books. We read a lot here is last weeks haul of comic books and up at the top coner is my little pony Just for the kids. I love how there is photos of ponys talking I love how each bubble is a sentece its like Phonic books but each page has a collection of pages printed on one page their colorful and attention grabbing.

we also grabbed a few 1 books from Target to read for the summer reading program.

One of Delilahs favorite school books even today is the Critical thinking Company books very easy and basic for little ones. Here are a few action shots of Delilah "teaching" Korrah.

This last week we also celebrated Delilahs 3rd birthday at McDonalds. Yes for the frugal parent that wants to go indoors and invite people to play McDonalds is a pretty decent place/ for 85$ including Tax  you get 10 happy meals. 10 ice cream sundays, Cake, Goody bags, Balloons, Table decorations, And the kids can play in the play place and have fun.

And as many of us know This last week was Fathers Day. Delilah water painted his Envalope And both kids "picked" out some books for Daddy.

Just for a moment I would Like RIP My own dad James August 17th 2014 and my grandpa who raised me Joseph October 12 2014 And Chris Dad Phillip Augst 2nd 2011

More Rain

This last week has been Busy. Ive heard and seen a few comments about how the Houston Adressed Tropical Storm Bill. Living in an area That was predicted for up to 15 inches I want to say a few things. Over the last month Its been very wet. Just two weeks ago or so I posted about all the flooding that we got from just a thunderstorm. All of the rain has saturated the area we have not been able to mow our grass yet unless you own a commercial lawn mower. The News have made a few comments  after nothing happened about how Houston Went to the grocery store to prep like it was a hurricane. We were instructed to prep for more onslaught. That We would Flood and Power would go out. That the tropical storm would bring in more water on top of our water and that we needed to prepare for days without electricty and possibly drinking water from flooding. By tuesday 4pm A report was issued that they Over predicted the storm and how much rain it would have brought in But all the prepardness came Monday not Tuesday. Monday night we were told it would make land fall and to prepare. Weather is unpredictable It stalled for over 6 hours before making land fall. We were told as it moved across land our area would act like a brown ocean and possibly strengthen the storm which it did not. Weather is Unpredicatable But There was a few post and comments made On air That made it feel like the Weathermen of our area was in a sense laughing at us for over preparing". And if anything I wanted to get my tiney little voice out there.

With the rain great ample oppurtunity to make a few prompto lessons. Living in the south our grocery stores are filled with Hurrican tracking phamplets. They are a great introduction for Geography. Latitude longitude, Names of areas. And A good Science lesson on WEather. Esp with how unpredictable this tropical storm moved and acted. It seams Cliche but It really is a great lesson. Sixth grade geography teachers make posters of different hurricans or just cordinates  and put them out of order in the hallways and have kids go in groups to figure out what is where and match them up as a lesson plan why not do the same.

This last week ive also been trying to make lessons out of movies. Watch a movie, read a book, Here is more detail about what is going on in the movie/book. Im really excited And would love input when I have more Set up to share

Last Friday Was Daddy daughter dance at the local town hall. I think me and Chris was more excited than anything. Chris Did not take any photos. But he said they had a lot of carnival style food nachos, popcorn, Hotdogs. they had a lot of games set up and from I could make out the Same games as the market walk Giant connect four and jenga.  My Little one had tons of fun the first thirty minutes before people started showing up and then there was too many people for her to enjoy herself. It soon became I want to go home.
So There wasnt much that happened.

This little section of photos is a impromptu reading from daddy at the local walmart. Little Girls wanted to read and picked out some books ro read. and we stopped and indulged Its off the beat but Ill take any moement. And some of the work sheets from a premade preschool book that we worked on. Delilah can already do these worksheets pretty easily if i stop to work with her. U whats the Same?

And Last night we said goodbye to another family member our Little Dog Zoe. Our children are not immune to death. My dad and grandfather passed away Last year. The most affected are Chris as The little dog was his last link in a way to his parents. It was his moms dog before she passed away then his dad and the ours. And my grandmother who doted on the small dogs. And of course the other small dog who keeps looking for her. We dont fully know why Zoe passed away. Its probably a combination of a few things. Like she was 12 years old at least. We brought in a shelter dog that had Kennel Cough which could have been pneumonia and passed it on. and Delilah loved Zoe and would sometimes play too rough. So Just a combination or even anything else could have been it with the weather we dont know. But we know that she will be missed greatly and her Presense missing is already being felt.

A new Family Member

Last week we had a bit of Fun. We went and adopted ourself's a dog. Part Corgi Mix and what a wonderful dog it is. Having little kids and other little kids to hang out and play This dog just lays there and takes it I dont think I could have ever found such a good dog if I started it out from a puppy myself. My girls love it. I have my Parrot and my kids finnaly have a dog that they can play with and love on with being bitten and scratched. And the best part is the Dog Loves them and she is new into our family. I dont think I could have been any Luckier. The name is  going in between Sukkah And Tinkerbell.

Some of the boring stuff we did this week was gave our birds a bath. 1 double yellow headed amazon, 2 love birds, and a parakeet It was time for everyone to get a good shower

This last week We went to a play group And plaid. Not much is said there Delilah had tons of fun playing with the other kids. But anytime I was out of veiw for Korrah she would Walk into a Corner and Start Crying. It was so sad to see another mom Had to find me the first time and Then Korrah would not leave my side. She stayed on my lap almost the entire time unless Delilah was right there next to her.

I signed Delilah and Chris up For a Father Daughter Dance next week. I cant wait to post about that. Its carnival themed and hosted by the City. All the girls must be in dresses and The woman at the desk said some of the girls go all out get their hair and make up done and they wear prom dresses. Well I may not be that rich Delilah is going through a 3t growth spurt. I had no nice dresses for her to wear to the event or even the money to buy her a dress. So I took my money to The clearence fabric over at Hancock Fabrics. for 10$ I was able to make a cute little halter top. This is Korrah Moddling it for me as  Delilah is going through the terriable threes.

This last week we also had Korrah Interviewed for EIC. When The coordinator left I was under the impression Korrah was 4 months behind. and working at a 12 month level. We had issues with the computer and Issues with how old she was in months. For the most part they had her do a puzzle, string beads, and out of a line of 3 objects pick up the shoe or something. I just received the results in the mail and I feel pretty well that the lower end of her skills I can work on. But I am really happy with her higher end. It can be wrong of me But I rather look at the silver lining.  Out of all tested ; Aaptive, Personal Social, Communication, Gross Motor, Fine motor, Cognitive Adaptive was the worst and her Fine motor was the best.  I am a little confused as her Personal social came in second to top when Im not allowed to leave the room with out her crying  while her Gross motor and her communication Tied for being second from bottom. So now Ill be scouring the internet trying to find ways to help her. In the areas where she was not good at it was a 20% and 25% she would have gotten help. While the areas she was good at was almost a year above  her age level.

As a tid bit. Delilah is all of the terriable threes people have joked about. We are just hitting the no phase I never had at the age of two instead it is I don't like, I don't want. Its making messes just because, Refusing to go to bed, Locking the dogs in the closet. And I Really do not know how the best way to handle this is. Potty training is on a break because now she refuses to use the potty and likes to go in the undies just because. Its hard to be mad when she grabs a wet floor sign to use when she peed herself in public last time. There just needs to be something smoother than whatever I am doing. I feel between the two Im in boot camp with Korrah going back to her every other hour feedings day and night because of a cold Im exahusted and tempermental as well.
